Brushstrokes and bright lights as Art Amble returns to Penzance

Penzance Primary School’s Art Amble returns this September, transforming the school into a vibrant gallery filled with learner-created artworks, interactive displays, and glowing surprises.

ON September 25 and 26, Penzance Primary School will come alive with colour, creativity, and community spirit when it hosts its second annual Art Amble, a vibrant exhibition showcasing the artistic talents of its learners.

The event will transform the school into a lively gallery space, with each grade presenting artwork based on a unique theme developed throughout the year. “Teachers have been planning the exhibition since the beginning of the year,” said the school’s management team. “Each grade has chosen a special theme to guide their artistic creations.”

Leading the initiative is Catherine Stevens, who said the school is excited to build on the success of last year’s event. “We’re thrilled to be bringing it back. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the talent and effort of our learners — and the dedication of our staff,” said Stevens.

In addition to the stunning artwork on display, the evenings will feature live entertainment by the learners, a UV glow gallery, an illusion section, and interactive photo opportunities positioned throughout the walk. “We also have art pieces done by each grade available on silent auction,” Stevens added.

The Art Amble takes place from 17:00 to 20:00 on both nights. Entry is R10 per person, and the event is open to all. “Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the atmosphere and support our budding young artists,” said Stevens.
