Penzance Primary celebrates 105 years with grand reunion event

Penzance Primary School is inviting former learners and staff to a special reunion celebration on Saturday, September 27, as it marks 105 years of excellence, community, and unforgettable memories.

PENZANCE Primary School is preparing to mark a momentous milestone — 105 years of educational excellence and community spirit — with a grand reunion celebration on Saturday, September 27.

The school is inviting past pupils and former staff to return to the place where memories were made and legacies began. The reunion celebration will be held in the Penzance Primary School Hall; doors open at 18:00 for 18:30, and the evening promises a blend of nostalgia, laughter, and heartfelt reconnections.

Event organiser Samantha Nelson said guests will be treated to a two-course meal, included in the R230 ticket price, and an entertaining programme led by comedian and MC Carvin Goldstone who will bring his signature charm to the stage. “This is more than just a school event,” said Nelson. “It’s a celebration of the generations who have passed through our gates, helped shape our school’s legacy, and contributed to our vibrant history.”

From its founding in 1920 to its present role as a pillar of the Glenwood community, Penzance Primary has impacted thousands of lives through education, care, and commitment. The reunion is an opportunity for former learners and staff to honour that shared journey.

“Whether you were here in the 1950s or just a few years ago, this event is for you,” Nelson added. “It’s a night to remember where we came from — and to celebrate where we’re going.”

Bookings are essential, and seats are expected to fill quickly. Interested guests should email Samantha Nelson at nelsons@penzance.co.za to secure their place.
