Art workshop embraces spirit of Halloween, recycling
Blending the theme of Halloween and the significance of plastic recycling, renowned Umcebo Design crafters will host a creative arts workshop, teaching participants to make decorative skeletons out of plastic milk cartons.
FOLLOWING the success of their paper rose-making workshop in June, they are once more running a holiday workshop for people keen to get into the “spirit” of Halloween. The recycled plastic art workshop is presented by respected crafters Robin Opperman and Ujala Sewpersad from Umcebo Designs.
Umcebo Designs is known for teaching adults and children how to make art from recycled materials, encouraging people to be creative while repurposing materials otherwise destined for landfill.
“It is fun to learn to make your own decorations, be it ghosts from paper cups, spiders from pipe cleaners, or bats from egg boxes. We will be suggesting some fun projects to create with friends, family, and classmates ahead of October 31. Participants will be making skeletons from plastic milk cartons during the workshop,” shared Umcebo Designs..
The workshop fee is R100, and all necessary materials will be provided. For planning purposes, booking is essential.
To book, or for more information, contact Robin Opperman on WhatsApp at 0837933408.
All the spooky action will take place at the Glenwood Village Centre on October 11 from 9:00
