Cyclists to don Xmas hats for charity on Cycle Sunday
The popular Cycle Sunday route becomes a charity drive hub as riders gather stationery donations for children in need and iCare.
THE introduction and success of the Cycle Sunday initiative on the M4 has sparked an idea among members of Classic Steel and Vintage Cycle Club who will be seizing the opportunity on Sunday, December 14, to raise awareness and collect stationery donations as part of their annual Xmas Hat Ride.
The group has made an appeal to cyclists and members of the community who will be part of the Ride Sunday initiative to support their charity ride. Eric Prinsloo, founder of the club, said the charity ride was established over five years ago and that the last three rides have been in support of iCare’s stationery drive.
“This time we will be starting and ending at 118 On Fairway restaurant and coffee shop in Durban North,” said Prinsloo. Last year’s start and finish venue was near the Pirates Surf Lifesaving Club.
