DURBAN Central Police are investigating a case where a woman was found dead at Bay of Plenty on the beachfront on Thursday.
According to the police, they received information from bystanders who noticed the body floating at sea.

Sergeant Zanele Khomo shared, “Allegedly a female, aged 40, jumped into her car from her residence, and drove to Durban North beach. Apparently when she got there she fell off the pier at Bay of Plenty. She was declared dead on scene.”
North Beach CPF chairperson Essa Mahomed has urged community members to seek professional help if they experience feelings of self-harm or hopelessness.
“Our thoughts remain with the family during this difficult time. Support is available, and reaching out can save a life. Our communities also need continued education on mental health and early intervention.

“As we enter the festive season, we remind the public to exercise caution around water. Drownings are a significant concern at this time of the year, especially during celebrations and when alcohol is involved. Please prioritise safety and look out for one another,” Mahomed added.
