Undocumented business owner arrested in Glenwood
After allegedly failing to produce valid documentation, an Ethiopian national and shopowner was arrested and charged with non-compliance and being in the country illegally.

ON Friday afternoon (February 6) Durban Metro Police Service Task Team conducted a stop-and-search operation along Che Guevara Road.
The spokesperson for Durban Metro Police Colonel Boysie Zungu said, “During the operation, information received from Crime Intelligence indicated that a business was continuing to operate despite having been served with a notice to discontinue trading by the Building, Fire, and Health Departments due to non-compliance.

“The Task Team proceeded to the identified premises at Helen Joseph Road, where a foreign national (Ethiopian) was found operating the business.”
Zungu alleged that the individual failed to produce valid documentation to be in the country, and could not provide a lawful reason for continuing business operations after being instructed to close.
