YESTERDAY’S Pro-Am set the pace for an exciting build-up to the Jonsson Workwear Durban Open from tomorrow at the iconic Durban Country Club. Boasting a contingent of international and local golfers, the golfing showpiece will draw a global audience for the duration of the competition.
The momentum continued with the inspiring eThekwini Golf Development Programme clinic, where 30 local young golfers had the opportunity to sharpen their skills and learn from the professionals.

“Golf, like all sporting codes, acts as an economic driver and exposes Durban to the global audience during the event,” eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba said.
He emphasised the significance of hosting such events to restore confidence among various stakeholders, adding that the City was committed to attract investment into eThekwini Municipality.

Johnson Workwear CEO, Nick Jonsson recommitted his company to work with the eThekwini Municipality to revive the city. The Jonsson Workwear Durban Golf Open runs from Thursday, February 19 to Sunday, February 22, where the 2026 champ will be crowned.
Motorists are advised that higher traffic volumes are expected around the Durban Country Club precinct during this time, especially during morning arrivals and late afternoon departures, and to obey traffic officials and temporary signage.
