Port Natal Bowls hosts top women bowlers

Durban is gearing to come alive with world-class lawn bowls action as Port Natal Bowls hosts the Bowls SA Women’s Open from May 2–10.

With multiple clubs across the region opening their greens, the highly anticipated national tournament, Bowls SA Women’s Open, promises a feast of skill, strategy, and sporting excellence.

Bowlers from across the country will compete in Fours, Pairs and Singles, all vying for national honours. For many, this event represents the pinnacle of the domestic bowls calendar — a stage where experience meets rising talent and every end can change the course of a game.

Port Natal Bowls president Ken Fann said, “We are delighted to have everyone here. To share what promises to be nine days of outstanding competition, camaraderie, and memorable moments on and off the green.

“This tournament is a result of many months of planning and dedication. A heartfelt word of thanks to the event committee, under the leadership of Steve Kelf, for their tireless efforts.”

The tournament also shines a spotlight on Port Natal’s own bowlers, who will compete against the country’s best.

Games will be hosted at various venues across Durban, making it easy for residents to get involved.
Durban Bowling Club is set to welcome bowlers for the sectional stages of the pairs on May 2 and 3, as well as the Open and Veteran Singles on May 4.
Meanwhile Durban Collegians Bowling Club will host the sectional rounds of the fours competition on May 5 and 6.
Spectators are encouraged to support the local contenders and experience the electric atmosphere that only top-class competition can bring.
