Sivananda World Peace Foundation set to host Green Diwali Festival

The annual event encourages a fireworks-free and vegetarian celebration to make a statement about non-violence and caring for the environment.

THE Green Diwali festival at Durban’s iconic Mitchell Park takes place this weekend on Friday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23.

The annual event encourages a fireworks-free and vegetarian celebration to make a statement about non-violence and caring for the environment. This year’s event is hosted by the Sivananda World Peace Foundation. The primary aim of Sivananda World Peace Foundation is to promote arts and culture, peace, harmony, non-violence and unity in diversity.

Highlights will include: 

Friday at 19:00 – Switching on the lights
Saturday at 12:00 – Yoga in the park
Saturday at 13:00 – Zulu Dance
Saturday at 15:00 – Indian Fusion Dance
Saturday at 19:00 – Screening of Deep End and a night picnic in the park
Sunday at 11:00 – Yoga in the park
Sunday at 13:00 – Petcare lessons by Dr Sanil Singh
