Dolphins and Rocks draw at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium

Jon-Jon Smuts was awarded the Player of the Match award for his 5 for 55 in the first innings.

THE Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the Gbets Rocks drew their CSA 4-Day Domestic Series clash at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium on Sunday, November 27.

The match, which is the second and final four-day match until the new year, saw the Dolphins in a strong position with the bat in their first innings.

Jon-Jon Smuts was awarded the Player of the Match award for his 5 for 55 in the first innings – a first five-wicket haul in first-class cricket for the Dolphins. SJ Erwee scored a half-century which will be a positive for him and the Proteas as he heads off with the national team on a test tour in Australia starting in December.

In another positive for the national team, Keshav Maharaj was back in action after recovering from an injury, and he picked up 3 for 80 in the first innings as he also embarks on the tour of Australia.

The Dolphins now shift their focus back to white-ball cricket, but it is 50-over cricket that is the emphasis. The CSA One-Day Cup kicks off on December 2 when the Dolphins take on the Rocks in their opener at Eurolux Boland Park.
