Halloween lovers in for a treat on Florida Road
Get ready for Halloween at Florida Road’s annual Trick or Treat Fancy Dress Parade, a family-friendly event with fun activities for all ages.
Fans of Halloween can look forward to showing off their outfits at this year’s edition of the Trick or Treat Fancy Dress Parade.
The annual parade will take place next Saturday (October 31) and people of all ages are invited to join in the celebration.
According to Jessie Shane, PR and marketing manager for the Florida UIP, this is a free event starting at 11:00, and everyone is invited to attend.
“This is our annual Trick or Treat parade. Our community dresses up and starts the walk from Mitchell Park, all the way down to Argyle Rd.
“They stop at participating stores, which give the kids candy. They then come up to the park for the day where we will have a market, a jumping castle, face painting and some stalls.”
She said that the event would be directly followed by a Cancer Awareness walk and that those participants were also invited to join them at the park afterwards.

“We encourage families to spend the day in the street, having lunch, exploring the streets and stopping off at the park for a relaxed day.”
The Breast Cancer Awareness Walk will be hosted by Women with Love, in conjunction with the Reach for Recovery NPO.
According to finance administrator Sadiyah Shah, co-founder of Women with Love and finance administrator for Tsrfoodco, the event fostered support and unity.
“The event is about more than just walking for awareness. It is about standing together for everyone affected by breast cancer, honouring survivors, remembering those we have lost and showing support to those who are still fighting. We also want to create a day filled with love, hope, connection and family fun, bringing the community together for a meaningful cause.”
She said that the gathering was open to everyone who wished to participate.
“Although Women with Love was created with women at its heart, we believe that support, awareness and compassion have no gender. We welcome men, women, children, families and anyone who would like to stand with us and support the cause. Breast cancer affects entire families and communities and everyone has a role to play in spreading awareness.”
Shah said that overall, they hoped to create greater awareness around breast cancer, encourage early detection and remind those affected by cancer that they are not alone.
“We want to bring people together, create meaningful conversations and build a community where women and families feel supported, celebrated and understood.
“Through Women with Love and our partnership with Reach for Recovery, we hope to make a difference beyond just one day. We want people to leave feeling inspired, connected and reminded that even the smallest act of kindness, support or awareness can make a difference in someone’s life.”
She said their ultimate aim was to spread a message of hope, unity and love because sometimes, knowing that you are supported makes all the difference.
