Minor from Sydenham a victim in sexual assault case

SAPS are searching for a man believed to have information on a recent rape case involving a minor.

SYDENHAM Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit are seeking assistance in solving a case of sexual assault they are investigating.

According to Detective Warrant Officer MI Cele, it is alleged that on December 31, at about 18:30, a victim, aged 17, was at her place of residence on Sparks Road doing washing. “She was approached by an unknown male who came from behind and touched her breasts. The victim informed him to stop what he was doing, but he continued until the victim managed to run inside the house and lock herself there. He tried to follow her, however, the door was locked,” said Cele.

“Anyone with information that can assist the detectives to solve the case should contact Sydenham Police,” said Cele.
