Four suspects arrested for the murder of Musgrave woman

Police arrested four suspects less than 24 hours after they stabbed and killed a 66-year-old woman at her flat in Musgrave on Monday morning.

THE eThekwini District Trio Task Team, working together with the police in Berea, Crime Intelligence officers in Durban and private security companies, have arrested four suspects less than 24 hours after they stabbed and killed a 66-year-old woman at her flat in Musgrave on Monday morning.

According to SAPS Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the intelligence-led manhunt directed the law enforcement officers to KwaMakhutha where the four suspects were arrested.

“The vehicle that was used in the commission of the crime was also recovered and seized. Police also found blood-stained clothes in possession of the suspects,” said Netshiunda.

The SAPS colonel said the suspects, aged between 21 and 36 years old, appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, October 5 and were remanded in custody.

“They will be in the dock again on October 12 in the Durban High Court where they are expected to submit a formal bid for bail,” said Netshiunda.
