University of KwaZulu-Natal to host Open Day

High school students who are hoping to pursue their tertiary studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal can head to the institution's open day with their parents this April to learn more about what the institution and its various campuses have to offer.

THE annual University of KwaZulu-Natal Open Day is a chance for aspiring students who set to begin their tertiary studies to explore what the provincial institution can offer them, and a chance for parents to see where and how their budding young adults will take the next big step in their lives.

From captivating chemistry experiments to state-of-the-art drone showcases, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is inviting high school learners and their families to immerse themselves in a world of discovery at the annual Open Day events on April 13, from 09:00 to 13:00, at the Westville Campus Sports Centre and on April 20, from 09:00 to 13:00, at the Library Lawns on their Pietermaritzburg Campus.

According to a statement released by the university, the event is designed to provide invaluable career guidance and insight into the university’s diverse degree programmes and support services. “The Open Day promises an engaging and interactive experience for all attendees who will explore our campuses, interact with passionate academic staff and uncover the wealth of opportunities at UKZN. The event boasts a dynamic programme featuring inspiring talks from university leaders, informative sessions on study options and financial aid and exciting demonstrations showcasing UKZN’s commitment to excellence in teaching and research.”

Executive director for Corporate Relations at UKZN, Normah Zondo, expressed her excitement for the upcoming Open Day. “Our team is dedicated to ensuring a memorable and informative experience for all attendees. We’re thrilled to open our doors and welcome prospective students and their families, guiding them through our vibrant campus life and empowering them to pursue their academic and personal goals.”

“In addition to the enriching educational opportunities, the event promises live entertainment, delicious food and fun competitions with exciting prizes up for grabs. Learners and parents can follow the university’s social media pages for more updates,” said UKZN in their statement.
