Victoria Embankment closed while police investigate crime scene

Victoria Embankment Point-bound has been closed just before Aliwal (Samora Machel) Street after an alleged shooting incident between police and alleged robbers where a police vehicle was shot multiple times. Fortunately, no police officers were injured.

ROAD users have been warned to steer clear of the Victoria Embankment going towards the Point, just before Aliwal (Samora Machel) Street in the Durban CBD, due to an alleged shooting incident in the area between police and alleged robbers.

According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, paramedics were informed that a police vehicle had been shot multiple times. “Paramedics arrived on scene to find SAPS in attendance with the vehicle that was used in the commission of the crime. Paramedics checked on all the members and, fortunately, none of them had sustained any injuries.”
