Has your car been damaged by a pothole? Submit a claim
Motorists are plagued with potholes on Durban roads and below is how you can report damage to your car, should you hit a pothole.
DID you know that you can report damage to your car as a result of driving through a pothole to the municipality?
With Durban roads filled with potholes and the rain worsening the situation, Caxton Durban Media asked eThekwini Municipality on how to report damage to your vehicle.
eThekwini Municipality spokesperson, Gugu Sisilana said, “The claimant needs to complete both the claim affidavit form, and the public liability claim form.

“The claimant needs to attach pictorial evidence of the area of the incident, the damages caused and an invoice where possible. Once the forms are all completed, they must be submitted to the Finance Claims Department,” advised Sisilana.
To report potholes, she said people can contact the City’s Engineering Unit Call Centre on 080 311 1111 or send a WhatsApp message to 073 1483 477.
Alternatively, send an email to Eservices@durban.gov.za or log a fault on the Ethekwini App which can be downloaded on Google Play store, App Store and Huawei App Gallery.”
