Three men sought in rape, kidnapping case in Durban central

Durban Central SAPS's Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit detectives are seeking assistance to solve a case of kidnapping, rape and robbery with firearm which they are investigating.

SAPS Durban Central is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying three men to help in solving a case of alleged kidnapping, rape and robbery in the city centre.

IT is alleged that between March 6 and 9 at about 12:00, a victim aged 23 was walking along Yusuf Dadoo Street when she was approached by an unknown male who pointed a firearm at her and allegedly kidnapped her.

“He instructed her to jump inside the vehicle. The said vehicle sped off, and there were other occupants inside with firearms. They covered her nose with a cloth, after which she felt dizzy and blacked out. Later that day, she woke up in a dark room. Three males came inside and demanded her bank cards and cellphone. They later raped her one by one on different days. They then took her into a vehicle where she was covered with a cloth and woke up at the Julius Nyerere bridge in Berea,” explained Sergeant Zanele Khomo, spokesperson of SAPS Durban Central.

“We appeal to anyone who may have information regarding the attached males in the photo that might help to solve the case to contact investigating officer Detective Constable Dludla on 061 375 4876 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” added Khomo.
