AHEAD of tonight’s clash between the Hollywoodbets Sharks and the All Blacks, security has been tightened around the stadium precinct with Durban Metro Police Service set to be out in full force.

Kick-off time for the match is 19:00 at Hollywoodbets Kings Park. eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Senzelwe Mzila said DMPS will deploy officers around the stadium precinct to manage traffic flow and secure spectators.

He urged motorists and those planning on attending the match to arrive early. “Motorists and road users are urged to plan routes early, adhere strictly to municipal traffic by-laws, and follow the directives of law enforcement officers on duty,” said Mzila.

The highly anticipated match is part of New Zealand’s warm-up programme in the run-up to the August 22 Springboks vs All Blacks match at Ellis Park Stadium, Johannesburg.

New Zealand arrived in SA at the end of July for the historic 2026 “Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry” tour, the first full All Blacks tour of SA in 30 years.

To ensure that safety standards are high and that the match is enjoyed by all, Mzila said security around eThekwini had already been increased over the past week with law enforcement deployed to key municipal nodes to inspect public transport vehicles, curb illicit activities, and maintain high-visibility road safety enforcement.

“eThekwini Municipality through the Durban Metro Police Service remains committed to its mandate to enforce the rule of law, protect municipal infrastructure, and ensure the safety of all residents and visitors,” he added.
