Musgrave Essenwood UIP to tackle community challenges
The Musgrave Essenwood UIP meeting will address community challenges, including rising crime rates.
The area of Musgrave and Essenwood has reportedly been battling with ongoing challenges, including increasing crime, illegal dumping, homeless invasion, dirty streets, deteriorating public spaces, and the lack of visible enforcement and security.
Due to these challenges, the Musgrave Essenwood Steering Committee admits that there is a need for a co-ordinated, properly managed solution.
Lisa Thomson, member of the MEUIP (Musgrave and Essenwood Urban Improvement Precinct), said, “We cannot continue trying to tackle these problems as individuals. That is what the UIP is about. There will be a meeting, which will be an opportunity for the community to hear about the progress of the UIP, and where we stand with the November deadline, and ask questions.

“We cannot complain about the state of our community and then sit back and wait for someone else to fix it.”
The UIP invites the community to come out in numbers and attend the meeting on October 9 at 17:30 at Maris Stella School, 558 Stephen Dlamini Road.
