EDITOR – Last week I attended the Berea Community Police Forum for the Berea, Musgrave and Morningside areas at DHS and was most disappointed at the lack of interest shown by the community.
From all of these areas I have mentioned only about 30 residents bothered to attend. A few days later the crime statistics were published and they didn’t make good reading. It does seem that the police are under staffed and under resourced and crime is on the rise. I am writing to urge others to support those who are actively working to make our area safer.
The Berea police station is in need of attention and we could contribute towards making the workplace for our hard working police more comfortable. I have committed myself to do what I can towards that end – please will you help too!
