EDITOR – The segment of Helen Joseph Road between Bulwer and Brand Roads, site of numerous restaurants and a Woolworths shopping centre, has become a permanent traffic jam especially when drivers turning from Bulwer in Helen Joseph then try to turn right across the traffic to reach the Woolworths parking.
A simple solution seems for me is to make Helen Joseph one way (upwards) and allow only oblique parking on the right side of the road.
The argument held against this by some is that ambulances need a two way road.
It does not hold water! Send an ambulance either way on Helen Joseph on a Friday afternoon and I bet they won’t be back to their base before midnight!
