Absa responds

Absa says the Windermere branch now has two upgraded Cash Accepting Devices, which are far more effective.

EDITOR – This is our response to the letter by M du Plooy published on Berea Mail on Friday 17 October 2014.

The Absa branch in the Windermere Shopping Centre was re-opened on 10 October following a refurbishment aimed at improving the experience of our customers. Previously, the suite of machines at the branch consisted of a Cash Accepting Device, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and a self-service device or kiosk. In other words, not all three were ATMs.

Our Cash Accepting Devices validate and authenticate cash deposits and the credit is immediately processed to a client's account. A barcode scanner is fitted on Cash Accepting ATMs to allow clients to pay selected third-party service provider accounts by either scanning their statements/invoice or entering the account numbers.

Absa's Cash Accepting Devices allow clients to pay bills through Scan ’n Pay (scanning bills). Through our ATMs we want to offer value and cost effective service to our clients. The branch now has two upgraded Cash Accepting Devices, which are far more effective because they can perform all clients banking transactions. We are committed to providing the best banking experience for our clients.
