EDITOR – With reference to the article that appeared in last week's Berea Mail – 'Speed calming needed desperately' – I’d like to report that I also became a statistic at the intersection of Currie and Gladys Mazibuko Roads.
On 27 November my car was written off at this very same intersection. I was driving along Currie, and must admit that I did not see the stop sign, and was hit by a car coming up Gladys Mazibuko Road. My car spun around in the intersection and came to a standstill on the barrier outside Mr Comignani’s property.
Thank goodness all six airbags deployed and cushioned me, and I escaped with just bruising to my left arm from the airbag in the steering wheel. I am happy to be alive.
