Why is illegal parking still a problem on Rick Turner?

A resident feels the continued illegal parking in Rick Turner Road is 'ridiculous'.

EDITOR – When I arrived in Durban during 2012 the problem of parking on the red line outside the take-away outlets in Rick Turner Road existed and is ongoing.

So many letters of complaints by so many and it still remains a dangerous problem.

Cars are parked illegally on the no parking lane and the car guard is still there showing you where to park in the no parking lane.

Cars coming towards the robot are at times occupied in the right lane for half a kilometre, knowing that the left lane has parked cars. People parking on the side of the takeaways have a huge problem in leaving the outlet to become part of the right lane cars.

Cars continuing on the left lane where they have to move to the right lane to be able to get to the robot, are very impatient and force their way in between the cars that have been standing there for ages! I nearly had an accident last Friday. It is a sickening and scary situation!

Why is this place still a problem? Enforcement of the law is desperately needed.

Why do they not put a warning sign up that wheels will be clamped and then enforce the warning? Why is the car guard still there?

Motorists need the left lane for fluid flow of heavy traffic, as it is a very busy road at peak periods especially.

Where are the law enforcement people!
