EDITOR – South Africans are by nature very negative and this negativity manifests in their attempt to vent their anger at the government in general and more specifically the ANC.
It may have something to do with the manifestations of apartheid but my observation reflects a different identity which seems commonplace globally.
We need to introspect and look for the positives in this particular chapter. I’ve noticed that with every major international event, like the World Cup of 2010 and other major conferences the City Fathers have almost a reawakening and you would find the pot holes sorted, the verges cleaned, beggars and street vendors removed and generally the police force in full force.
Once again with the Commonwealth Executive Committee ready to make it’s evaluation of the City’s readiness for such an event, the City is beginning to sparkle again. Look out for the yellow trucks at every corner revamping anything and everything and this so in the vicinity of the Moses Mabhida Stadium, the Kings Park Swimming Pool and even the Rachel Finlayson Pool is closed to the public.
Let’s see the positives.
