Don’t fall for this con man

A resident warns people not to be caught out by a con man posing as an electrician.

EDITOR – I would like to warn all residents of the Berea, Glenwood and Umbilo areas about a very clever con man who goes by the name of Michael.

He poses as an electrician for household appliances, fridges and freezers.

His modus operandi is to look at the electrical fault and request an amount of money for the parts required and then you never see him again.

He is very polite and an easy talker who gains your confidence and when you feel you can trust him he strikes. Michael does this by doing small jobs successfully for you first.

Investigations have found that Michael has done this several times in the above mentioned areas, conning many people of a lot of money. Do not allow him to take an appliance to fix as you will never see it again.
