Lights out in Glenwood

A Glenwood resident said she is concerned that a lot of street lights are no longer working in the area.

EDITOR – I have just read the latest Berea Mail and the concerning crime figures in the Umbilo area.

It is imperative that the eThekwini Municipality Electricity Department attend urgently to the street lights along Pigeon Valley in King George V Avenue near the South Ridge Road side that have not worked for months! That area is pitch black at night!

Secondly, there is a stretch of street lights running along the Alan Paton Road public park from the corner of Cato Road that have been out for a while. Again there is an open public park in darkness.

I have repeatedly reported the street light on the corner of JB Marks and Ellis Brown Roads that has been out for a year!

Please tell me what we pay rates for, not to mention the high risk of crime that can occur especially at night in theses areas.

I wish to hear positive feedback and see actual action taken place to address these concerns that affect us all.
