Mickey shines at Michaelmas Cricket Week

Glenwood boy had an outstanding performance at Michaelmas cricket week

THERE were mixed results for the Glenwood 1st XI cricket team as they travelled to Pietermaritzburg to take part in the Michaelmas cricket week.

Glenwood came up against some of the best schools in the country and managed to win two out of the four matches they played. It was the local South Coast boy Mickey Hay however, who stood out with some impressive performances.

Mickey made his first half century against St David’s and then contributed to a narrow win against St Albans with a quickfire 24. It was against St John’s where Mickey showed his class. He scored an unbeaten 58 to help his side reach 261/6 and then spun his way to figures of 6/31 to help Glenwood to a 32 run win.

Mickey has also been selected to play for the KZN U17 team which will play against the other cricket unions in Stellenbosch later this year.
