Jordan Pillai climbs to new high

DHS sport climbers excel.

DURBAN High School’s climbers were among 36 pupils from KZN schools who took part in the Sport Climbing nationals held at the Barn in Pretoria recently . The DHS boys included, Jarred Kritzinger (U13), William Clarke (U15), Ashvir Debba (U15), Calvin Dafel (U17), Lindani Msomi (U17), Donovan Hulett (U17) and Jordan Pillai (U19). Out of the seven DHS boys’ that participated, five qualified for the semi-finals with Jordan Pillai making it through to the final round. The results were as follows; Jordan Pillai 2nd U19, Lindani Msomi 7th U17, Donovan Hulett 7th U17, William Clarke 6th U15 and Jarred Kritzinger 9th U13. Pillai’s outstanding climbing ability resulted in him being placed second in South Africa in the U19 age group and was awarded a silver medal, with the KZN team also being placed second in the country.
