Summer Games for Durban
Intellectually impaired athletes will compete in the Summer Games in Durban.

DURBAN will host the SASA-II national age group Summer Games from 11 to 17 April. This was announced by the KZN Sport Association for the Intellectually Impaired.
The participating provinces are Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North West, Western Cape and the hosts KwaZulu-Natal. This is an annual event for persons with an intellectual disability, from any of the mentioned provinces will compete in the codes of blackball, cricket, hockey, indoor rowing, swimming and table tennis.
The South African Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (SASA-II) serves as the governing body in matters pertaining to the amateur sporting activities for all intellectually impaired persons who belong to the Association.
INAS (International Federation for people with Intellectual Disability), a member of the International Paralympic Committee, was founded in 1986. It is the international organisation providing a platform for athletes and players with an intellectual impairment who wish to perform their sport at an elite level and according to the rules of the international federations such as the rules of FINA for swimming or IAAF for athletics.
