Triathlon promises fun for all

THE 32GI TinMan Triathlon presented by Triathlon Plus is a fast paced action packed triathlon and running event catering for athletes from all walks of life.

The three events, starting on 27 July at Suncoast Casino, will put top notch triathlon professionals racking their bikes next to newbie triathletes, all in the name of fun and keeping it real.

The TinMan Series kicks off where the successful 13-year-old Durban Multisport Series left in 2012 and promises to give new and old triathletes an exceptional event along one of the world’s most iconic beachfront venues. The TinMan bases itself from the Suncoast Sundeck, with the start and finish of each event taking place on the grass area. The other two events in the series will be on 31 August and the final race on 21 September. Anyone at any level of fitness can enter one of the four events on offer and take part of the action on Durban’s beachfront.

The first event kicks off at 7am (10km run and mini-tri) with the Sprint and Challenge Triathlons starting a little later. Teams can enter in a three man relay section for the Challenge Triathlon (1km swim, 30km cycle, 10km run).

Competitors from eight years and upwards can enter one of the events and challenge themselves and their friends to see how much fun they can have. The swim section of the triathlons take place at Suncoast beach, with the cycle leg taking the competitors onto the cycling circuit around the country club and Kings Park Pool. The run section of the event makes use of the promenade and takes the runners down to Blue Lagoon and back.
