Tennis league off to a swinging start
Tennis teams took to the court for the start of the Tony Jackson Sports Night League.
THE Tony Jackson Sports Night League began with a bang on Monday night at Westridge Tennis Stadium.
In group A, defending Champions Durban Speciality Chemicals got off to the perfect start when they defeated Dunlop Sports 4-0.
Gamma,who were semi-finalists from last year, also got off to a good start when they defeated new comers from Hillcrest, Space TV 4-0.
Two new sides rounded up the action from group A when Chase beat Ahmed Asmal Professional Accountants 3-1.
In group B action, former champions, Sica's Guest House defeated another new entry to the night legaue, Jaizen 3-1.
Last year's runner-up, Powerade were far too good for Scorpions with Powerade defeating Scorpions 4-0.
The match of the night was played between Tony Jackson Sports and Lynx Underwriting Managers. The youthful team of school boys from Tony Jackson Sports took on the much more experienced team from Lynx, however it was experience that prevailed over youth with Lynx winning a very exciting match 3-1.
