Missed opportunities cost Glenwood
Despite good play by Glenwood High's waterpolo players, Michaelhouse was too strong for the local teams.
GLENWOOD dominated most of the waterpolo matches against Michaelhouse at the weekend.
The A team matches were initially competitive but in the end it was Glenwood's individual skills, discipline and fitness that proved to have the edge over Michaelhouse.
In the U14A match Tiago Cordeiro top scored with four goals, however it was the team effort that caught the eye of the spectators. Cross passes were going to hand and several team goals were scored. Gabriel Stopford and Slade du Randt were the leading scorers for the U15A team. Connor Allen also had an outstanding match on both attack and defence, as did Juan van der Mescht.
The 1st team match was a tough encounter, with both sides defending exceptionally well. However it was the Glenwood team’s inability to convert certain goal scoring opportunities and their lack of patience that ultimately cost them the match. The team had five missed chances in the first three minutes before Michaelhouse had one shot on target. In the end this was a disappointing result against a team that Glenwood should have beaten. For Glenwood, Cameron Wiid had an outstanding game in goals.
