Diabetes walk postponed
Due to the sponsor pulling out at a late stage, the Global Diabetes Walk for 2014 has been postponed.
THE Global Diabetes Walk in Durban this year will be postponed until further notice and will not take place on 23 November as advertised.
Organisers, Nerve Marketing Events, said the walk had been postponed as sponsor, Pronutro (Bokomo) had pulled out of the event at a very late stage.
“With respect to our planning of this year’s event, Pronutro’s involvement was critical for its success in various areas. After we received this very late notice of withdrawal we have tried various avenues to raise sponsorship for this year's event with no success, mainly due to the lateness of our sponsorship requests,” said Paul Godwin.
He said there was a potential sponsorship lined up for a 2015 event and it was the intention to secure this sponsorship.
“We would like to thank everyone for the support over the last three years and will advise as to the new date for 2015 as soon as we can,” he said.
