Quins 6ths win encounter
Quins 6th team beat Simplex in a division five cricket match on Sunday.
FOUL weather conditions from early during Saturday evening resulted in none of the scheduled Durban and District cricket union league matches being able to take place on Sunday.
In addition, the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union’s scheduled Stream One Challenge League match between Quins and Southern Natal at the Port Shepstone Country Club, was also abandoned on Sunday morning. The only match which Umbilo Harlequins Cricket Club was able to fulfil was the division five encounter Quins 6 versus Simplex RHCSC at Siripat 2.
Simplex were dismissed in just 16,2 of their 30 over allocation. Warren Jordan taking two wickets for 11 runs, Darryl Lavender capturing four wickets for 11 runs in six overs, Gavin Hazel claiming two wickets for nine runs in three overs and Ian Karg managing two wickets for nine runs in three overs.
Quins surpassed their target in 10,4 overs, losing four wickets. Quins 6 won this encounter by six wickets and were accredited four log points.
Coaching sessions for juniors will be on Thursday at 5pm and seniors will practice from 4.30pm on Friday.
