eThekwini Mayor, James Nxumalo is urging all Durban soccer lovers to come out to support Bafana Bafana as they take on Sudan at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

eTHEKWINI Mayor, James Nxumalo, is encouraging all Durbanites to rally behind Bafana Bafana, when they take on Sudan in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier, on Saturday, 15 November.
The qualifier game was moved from Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium to Moses Mabhida Stadium in honour of the late Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates Captain, Senzo Meyiwa. The Bafana Bafana team arrived in the City this morning and headed straight to the burial site. They then proceeded to the Meyiwa family home in Umlazi to pay their respects.
Nxumalo said the city was excited to host Bafana Bafana. “The last time they were here, they won 4-1 against Botswana in the 2014 World Cup Qualification match in September 2013,” he said.
Nxumalo said the City had pulled out all stops to ensure that soccer-lovers coming to the match enjoy a hassle-free and safe game of football. “We are currently finalising our safety, security and traffic management plans. Safety and security personnel will be deployed at the stadium and parking facilities will be made available at various sites around the vicinity of Moses Mabhida Stadium. There will be no road closures. However, patrons are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.”
Tickets are currently on sale for R80 at Computicket outlets as well as Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide. Kick-off for the game is 3pm on Saturday, at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
