Enter now for the 5th Umhlanga Jockey Summer Festival Trail run and walk.

UMHLANGA Tourism and Riverside Trail will host the 5th Umhlanga Jockey Summer Festival Trail run and walk on 14 December.

The event will offer three distances, a 5km (run/walk), 12km (run/walk) and 18km run only and will start from the Millennium Stage on the Umhlanga Promenade at 6am.

There will be two refreshment tables for the 18km runners and one for the 12km.

Top athletes who will be lining up at the start include Thenjiwe Gumede who is SA Cross Country Champion and came 1st in the youth category of the Soweton Marathon this year, Mbhasobni Gumede who finished top five in the Soweto Marathon 2014, Lonwabo Mangwa who has many Oceans Marathons and Comrades Marathons under his belt and Lonwabo, the founder of the Inanda Qadi Athletics Club and coach.

The Jockey Trail Run will start and finish at the Millennium Stage on Umhlanga’s Main Beach. Winners will receive Jockey hampers and Jockey will also be donating over R15 000 worth of underwear to designated charities. Runners will be treated to spot prizes.

Late entries will be taken at the start from 5am on race day. Peter Rose, Chairman of Umhlanga Tourism will be officially welcoming all entrants when he fires the start gun.
