Cricket season up and running
Umbilo Harlequins Cricket teams are to take on the competition this weekend.
WITH the exception of the first and fourth teams, all Umbilo Harlequins Cricket Club sides have scheduled league matches on Saturday 10 January or Sunday 11 January.
On Saturday Quins sixth team take on Simplex Reservoir Hills 10 in a 30 over division five encounter at Siripat Road 2. On Sunday Quins second team verse East Coast two in a 40 over Challenge Reserve match at Harlequins 1.
Quins third side play Crusaders 3 in a 30 over division one game at Crusaders 2, Quins 5th team challenge DHS/Rhythm 5 in a division three commitment at Harlequins 2. The U13 side take on a development team called FAM at Harlequins two in an U13 south youth league match and the U11 team play Umgababa in a 30 over south youth league match at Harlequins one.
About 80 per cent of all the clubs matches have been washed out as a result of the rainy weather during the latter part of 2014, and Quins is aspirant of a successful second half of the current season with hopes of less negative impact from rain.
Junior coaching sessions will resume on Thursday at 5pm.
