Ray joins the Durban team from the Liverpool FC Academy and is an experienced head coach, having worked on a range of coaching projects for LFC. He has a UEFA B coaching license, and is a Football Association tutor and coach mentor.
“This is great opportunity for me to represent Liverpool FC in South Africa, passing on my knowledge and expertise to the young players and coaches. This is a fantastic project for the club and I’m really looking forward to getting started. I visited Durban in December to oversee the first LFC coaching programmes in the country. On that trip I experienced a lot of passion for LFC and young players that are eager to learn and take on board the information that we passed on to them. There’s huge potential with this project and I’m delighted to be part of it,” he said.
