Twenty-Twenty racing for Greyville
Don't miss out on Twenty-Twenty horse racing at Greyville Racecourse in April.

“Twenty-Twenty” horse racing takes place at Greyville Racecourse on Friday night, 17 April.
“Cricket has successfully embraced various formats of the game and, taking a leaf out of their book, and as an experiment, Gold Circle will stage a race every 20 minutes on 17 April,” said racing and marketing executive Graeme Hawkins.
In order to manage the evening, four of the eight races will be restricted to professionally qualified jockeys and the remaining four races will be restricted to apprentices. They will then ride in alternate races, thus giving each 40 minutes between races.
Trainers, however, will be under pressure to ensure the meeting goes off as planned but have pledged their full support. The race meeting is designed to keep everyone, including the racing fans, on their toes.
“One always has to expect the unexpected, especially in horse racing, but here’s hoping for an action-packed two and a half hours of exciting racing,” concluded Hawkins.
