Suncoast Pirates ready for national lifesaving clash
The top South African lifesaving athletes will be competing in the 2015 South African Surf Lifesaving Championships at Battery Beach.
SUNCOAST Pirates Surf Lifesaving Club (SLC) on Durban’s beachfront will become a hive of activity from 24 to 26 April, as the country’s top surf lifesaving athletes descend on the region for the 2015 South African Surf Lifesaving Championships at Battery Beach.
The junior and senior men’s and women’s three day competition will be preceded by the 2015 South African Masters Surf Lifesaving Championships on Thursday 23 April which will see some of the country’s top age group competitors go head to head for this year’s national spoils.
“We at Suncoast Pirates are really looking forward to having the country’s lifesaving fraternity join us here at our home for this year’s national championships,” said Suncoast Pirates SLC Chairman, Anton Fouché.
KwaZulu-Natal is once again set to be well represented as last year’s runners-up Marine SLC look to go one better in 2015, hosts Suncoast Pirates look to use home ground to their advantage and perennial top performers Durban Surf aim to continue their long standing presence amongst the country’s best.
It is however Fish Hoek SLC that come into this year’s clash as defending champions and the Western Cape outfit is eager to make take the title back home with them once more.
