The skills of junior soccer players will be tested in thrilling matches on Sunday, April 13, at Danville Sports Fields in Virginia, when they go toe-to-toe in a 5-a-side tournament hosted by the Greater Durban Local Football Association. The tournament will precede the seniors event which will be hosted over the Easter weekend.

The tournament will highlight the association’s programmes for 5600 junior players, between the ages of five and 19, laying a solid foundation for future national and international stars.

The junior tournament will be a run-up to the Easter series for the seniors which will take place the following weekend at Riverside Sports, marking the beginning of an exciting new era for football in the region. Philippa Feher, head of marketing at Mr Price Sport, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for this Tier 1 partnership.

She said, “As a proudly South African brand that is all about making living an active lifestyle accessible to everyone, it only makes sense that we invest in football, a thriving and loved South African sport, to uplift and give everybody the opportunity to feel the power of sport. The league has over 7500 participants ranging from age six to over 35; we really are partnering with people from all groups and backgrounds through this partnership.”
