MARK Twain’s deliciously whimsical and seldom-staged The Diary of Adam and Eve is coming to the Seabrooke’s Theatre at DHS for a short weekend season from 1 to 3 May at 7.30pm.
The Diary of Adam and Eve, adapted for the stage by Mark Bucci, showcases the quirky tenderness and enduring wit of American humorist Mark Twain. It was originally recorded as serialised double journal entries. It is a poignant, knowing, and terrifically witty three hander which takes a dig at timeless observations on the nature of men, women and love.
“Why this play: It’s Mark Twain….. And besides, I love it!” considers newcomer producer and director Catarina Morgado who is a relative newcomer to Durban. She is producing, directing and performing in The Diary of Adam and Eve. She plays opposite Jonathan Cohen as Adam, and Mthokozisi Zulu as the snake.
There are two fun promotions which support the production encouraging patrons to dine at Corner Cafe and Earth Mother Organic (in Glenwood and Durban North) during the week of the run. Restaurateur Judd Campbell, at Corner Cafe and Darren Glazer at the cosy Earth Mother Organic invite patrons to show their theatre tickets or ticket stubs during the week of the show and receive a free cappuccino with their meal. (Meal must be to the value of R50 or more). This offer is valid from Monday 28 April until Sunday 4 May.
