THE inaugural and eagerly anticipated 50 Shades of Black charity fashion show takes to the catwalk on Saturday, 31 May at the Square, 250 Umhlanga Rocks Drive, Umhlanga Rocks.
Radio presenter, Varshan Sookhun, who describes himself as being passionate about being involved with various charitable cause and a follower of fashion trends, said he jumped at the chance to create and produce the event.
Sookhun together with the Geness Foundation have nominated the KwaZulu-Natal Blind and Deaf Society as the beneficiary for this inaugural event.
“I admire how this organisation assists and empowers the blind, partially blind and the deaf within our society, as well as how it meets the Geness Foundation objective who support and have established projects that respond to the critical development needs of all humanity in the arena of health, education, entrepreneurship and sport in Africa,” he said.
Eight fashion designers and jewllery designers will showcase their work at this event. Items featured will include executive men’s and women’s wear, evening wear, swimwear, cocktail and one of the most interesting categories introduced, the recycled category.
