Jonathan Roxmouth returns to Durban for a show at Rhumbelow Theatre.
MUSICAL theatre comes to the Rhumbelow Theatre this month as it presents Stage By Stage, with Jonathan Roxmouth, on Sunday 8 June, Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 June and Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 June.
The world of musical theatre has long been a source of great songs, catchy melodies and iconic characters. From the twinkling lights of Broadway to the hallowed streets of London’s West End, there are many songs to be sung and stories to be told. Jonathan Roxmouth returns to Durban with a totally different show at the Rhumbelow Theatre. Durban has held a special place in Jonathan’s heart since his days with Northcliff High School’s annual musical at the Playhouse.
This time around, he is alone onstage with nothing but a microphone and his favorite songs from the musicals. Jonathan will take the audience on a showbiz ride unlike anything he has done before. Stage By Stage is made up of songs from shows he has done, songs from shows he is doing and songs from shows he hasn’t done yet. In between these are backstage stories and anecdotes that will have you chuckling.
Take food picnic baskets as the theatre opens 90 minutes before for dinner. Braais will be available should you wish to cook some meat. Bar available and no alcohol may not be brought on to the premises.
Cost is R120 and R100 for pensioners and tables of eight or more.
