Home hosts night market

The new Manning Road Night Market at the Jeanette Smit Home for Aged will be on this Friday, 27 June from 5pm.

THERE will be a sundowner night market offering some great winter comfort food at the monthly Manning Road Night Market in the gardens of the Jeanette Smit Home for the Aged in Glenwood on Friday, 27 June from 5pm.

The new night market is at 279 Manning Road (Lena Ahrens) from 5pm until 8pm. There is ample guarded parking available at the venue (parking at Henderson Crescent and Manning Road). A selection of curries by the entertaining Come Dine With Me personality and chef Jeffrery Titus and his Melting Pot of Curry, boerewors rolls, baked items, koeksisters, pancakes, banana bread and tea, coffee and cold drinks will be on offer.

All funds raised at the market goes towards the Home. The Jeanette Smit Home for the Aged has been in existence for more than 100 years and provides warm and safe accommodation and meals for more than 30 of its elderly residents. It is not a government subsidized home and finances all its needs internally and through donations. The Night Market is an initiative by the Jeanette Smit Home to provide local taste and entertainment to the residents of Durban, while raising funds for the home in the process.
