Musical duo for friends recital

THE duo Zappa Mainolfi will perform in the next Friends of Music recital on 23 February at Durban Jewish Centre, 44 KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban at 7.30pm.

Swiss musician, Mattia Zappa on violoneelo and Italian pianist, Massimiliano Mainolfi make up the duo, which was formed while the artists were studying at the Julliard School of Music in 1994.

Their programe features Sergey Prokofiev's Sonata for Cello and Piano Op.119 (C-Major), Antonin Dvorak's Rondo (concert piece), Franz Schubert's “Arpeggione” Sonata in A minor and Peter Tchaikovsky's Pezzo Capriccioso Op.62.

The prelude performer is guitarist Arianna Carini, who is studying classical guitar with James Grace.
