THE Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will showcase Sound, Love, Peace and Honesty, an offering by talented Durban born trumpeter, Sibusiso Mkhize on Wednesday, 2 March at 6pm.
Mkhize will introduce the music in his debut recording, Sound, Love, Peace and Honesty and will be joined by Dalisu Ndlazi (bass), Sanele Phakathi (piano), Leon Sharnick (saxophones) and Sbu Zondi (drums).
The trumpeter's career highlights thus far include being a part of the Standard Bank Youth Jazz Band which was led by Marcus Wyatt and Paul Hanmer in 2012 and 2013 respectively. In 2012 the Standard Bank Youth Band toured Sweden and featured in the Standard bank Joy of Jazz. He has also played in bands with accomplished musicians such as Dr Brian Thusi, Themba Mkhize UKZN Big Band and Mcoy Mrubatha.
Join Sibusiso Mkhize on trumpet and Fugel horn at The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music (CJPM), Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus.
