AKA for Music at the Lake concert

All eyes on AKA as he performs at the Durban Botanic Gardens on Sunday.

MULTI award-winning hip-hop supremo AKA is set to headline the Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert on Sunday, 6 March at the Durban Botanic Gardens at 2pm.

The artist will perform alongside East Coast Radio DJ Zaba, offering what organisers tout as 'a captivating escape from reality'.

This is the 'Baddest’ rapper’s debut performance at the Durban Concert Series and he expressed excitement to be able to bring his music to the natural amphitheatre of the Durban Botanic Gardens, especially as it provides a unique opportunity for his fans to experience him performing some of his latest music and a few flashbacks from his first album.

Born Kiernan Forbes, AKA has made a major impact on the international music scene, with two playlisted singles on BBC1Xtra who also announced him on the much anticipated Hot for 2016 list. The rising star whose latest offering is expected to be released soon, has also launched #3RDWRLDBOSS, a range of electronics consisting of headphones, ear buds and Bluetooth speakers.

Tickets are R130 for adults, pre-booked, and on the day sales at the garden are R150. Children aged eight to 12 pay R60, and under 8s are free. All children are welcome at the KidZone for some extra fun and games.

Gates open at 1pm for pre-sold ticket holders and 1.30pm for on-the-day sales.

Drinks, cooler boxes and picnic baskets are welcome.
