Artists announced for jazz extravaganza

Nduduzo Makhathini has been announced as the local artist to perform at the inaugural Durban International Jazz Extravaganza.

SOUTH African jazz musician Nduduzo Makhathini has been announced as the local artist to perform at the inaugural Durban International Jazz Extravaganza taking place on 12 March at the Durban International Convention Centre.

Makhathini will be performing alongside international jazz legends, Lee Ritenour and Spyro Gyra.

Nduduzo Makhathini who is originally from Pietermaritzburg, has four successful albums under his belt. He has shared the stage with music giants such as Busi Mhlongo, Zim Ngqawana, Feya Faku, Jimmy Dludlu, Herbie Tsaoeli and many others.

Tugging at the heartstrings of jazz lovers will be 10 year old guitarist, Luthando Jackson, also from Pietermaritzburg. Luthando will be the opening act at the extravaganza; he will finally fulfill his lifelong dream of meeting his role model Lee Ritenour and seeing him perform live.

Jazz lovers can look forward to a thrilling performance from home brewed artists.
